Street photography is the art of capturing candid, unposed moments of human life and social interactions within public spaces.

The image should focus on inanimate everyday objects such as food, flowers, or household items. Use lighting and composition to create interest and emphasize textures and shapes.

The image captures buildings and structures, focusing on design, engineering, and materials, and the relationship between the structure and its surrounding environment.

Reflections in photography are a creative tool that mirrors, distorts, or frames a scene using surfaces like water, glass, or polished metal to add depth and visual symmetry. The reflected subject should be the focus.

Minimalism focuses on a solitary subject, using abundant negative space and clean lines to eliminate distractions and focus on shapes and textures.

Travel photography captures the authentic essence, culture, and emotion of a specific place through its landscapes, people, and daily life.

Curves are a visual pathway, gently guiding the viewer’s eye through the frame along organic lines like winding roads, rivers, or patterns.

Creativity and imagination are the tools that allow a photographer to capture an ordinary subject in an extraordinary way. Digital enhancements are allowed. The image can be anything the rules permit.

Animal photography captures a creature in its natural environment, telling a story that connects the viewer to the animal’s world. All animals are eligible.

Nature photography captures the raw beauty of the natural world, showing the power, serenity, or fragility of the environment. The subject must be naturally present in Nature. Digital enhancement and manipulation must not be obvious.
