If you have ever had an opportunity to travel to the Great American SouthWest-specifically, Arizona-you also might have gotten to experience one of those Seven Wonders of the World, The Grand Canyon. At 217 miles long and approximately 20 miles wide, it is no wonder that it takes almost 6 hours to get to the bottom by mule…How do we know, you ask? We won the lottery! However, winning this particular lottery meant that we got to ride mules to the bottom of the Grand Canyon-10.5 miles down the Bright Angel Trail, one-way…and stay overnight at Phantom Ranch! At Phantom Ranch, we had a delicious steak dinner, met fellow mule-riders and hikers, and dipped our hot, weary-but-happy feet into the Colorado River, which is 46 degrees, year-round. Phantom Ranch also boasts a mail service-our daughter-in-law, Miranda, got to carry everyone’s mail down to the bottom and right to Phantom Ranch…come along with us as we share our Grand Canyon/Phantom Ranch Adventure with you!
